A still-recovering Carrie is sent to Kabul to help secure a peace deal with the Taliban. Elsewhere in Afghanistan, Max embarks on his own risky mission.

Carrie gets an anonymous tip on a possible source of leverage to use against G'ulom. Saul goes to Pakistan to arrange a private meeting with Haqqani.

After Saul warns Haqqani that there's a mole in his camp, the Taliban leader summons his son. Carrie receives a mysterious invitation from Yevgeny.

President Warner arrives in Afghanistan to make an announcement to the troops — and the world. Samira gets an upsetting visit from her brother-in-law.

Max's expertise is needed for a rescue mission. Carrie notices something suspicious on the flight manifest. G'ulom launches a manhunt for Haqqani.

Carrie asks Yevgeny to help her find Max. Jenna gets enhanced audio on the recording of Carrie's meeting with Yevgeny. President Hayes calls G'ulom.

Carrie and Yevgeny follow a lead on Max's whereabouts. To try to delay Haqqani's trial, Saul makes an appeal to Tasneem and her father.

The Taliban threaten to kill Max if Haqqani is executed. President Hayes falls under the influence of a new adviser at the White House.

Carrie and Yevgeny visit a bazaar, where they get a lead on the flight recorder. Tasneem meets with Jalal to stop him from provoking a war with the U.S.

Carrie tells the helicopter mechanic what was on the black box. Yevgeny offers Carrie a deal. Jalal forces one of his men to accept a horrific mission.

Saul begs Tasneem for any intel she can get on where Jalal might be hiding. An unlikely ally helps Carrie find a lead on the rumored Kremlin spy.

A chat with Carrie's sister makes Saul suspicious. Seeing no other way to stop an imminent war, Carrie steels herself to carry out a plan against Saul.
